Katla or Catla

Katla or Catla is know to breed on Upper layers of water and are considered to be fishes that grow fast estimated 1.5 to 2 kg a year.


Catla
Gibelion catla, the only member of the genus Gibelion, of the carp family Cyprinidae is a fish with a large protruding lower jaw. It is commonly found in rivers and freshwater lakes in the South and South East Asia.Originally confined to the plains north of Krishna, but has been transplanted to all river systems and reared in the tanks and reservoirs.

Katla,Rohu&Mrigal these are often considered a set in which katla breeds on the upper layer while Rohu on the middle layer and Mrigal on the Lower layer
