Its been there since Oct 2009.
I had purchased about a dozen of Black mole for around Rs 18 / - and maintained in my garden pond which is about the size of six feet. and depth of about three feet. With a lotus in it and presence of lotus had made it a ecosystem of its own as the dead leaves of lotus decays in it and form a kind of substance which seems familiar in ponds
After some time i could only spot one Black mole in it and i suspected the rest to have been eaten by a toad.
There was a big toad which resided in there and there was no way i could chase it away as it went below the surface and hid among the lotus roots.
After sometime there was none of the black mole to be seen and i though it was the end of the batch but later on i realized that there was one which was much larger in size which was about 3 months later and inspired by that i added the pond with half a dozen black mole and half a dozen guppies.
Later on i found a few big black mole's and i felt that it could not be the new one's as it was much bigger in size and i though may be the seniors were at the bottom and rarely came up and on rare occasions when i spotted lonely black mole on the surface they were different.
Few weeks later there was some small fishes i was cautious not to call them spawn as it could be tadpoles but later i was confirmed that it was black mole spawn itself now they have grown, although tiny they have the distinct look of black mole.
I have counted them on different occasions and i feel there are about 44 of them. If all of them survives it would fill the pond.
These are another two black mole's which have their belly swollen, i guess i can expect another batch soon.
