An attempt to Farming fishes in a quarie pit

It has been ages since our quarie has stopped functioning and there was no means to a revenue out of it.I was suggested to try fish farming in that huge pit formed after removal of rocks and infact the pit was like a lake of around 1 acre. and there were spots where its depth would be around 25 feet.



I had contacted the Fisheries Dept after they announced the Matsya Kerala.
they advertised the program around Feb 2009 but nothing has happened besides a training session which lasted with just bare basics for around 2 hours and attendants were provided Rs 100 /- and assured they would be given Katla,Rohu,Mrigal
which was supposed to indicate the 3 layers of fish farming in a pond.
